January 5, 2026: Snowfall Warning! (10 Photos) |
|
New year, new snow storm! Even though December snowfalls have been pockmarked by mild weather and rain, its been much better than last season by far. On this first morning back to work after the Christmas break most of the city was shut down having received a fresh 20cm of snow on the ground. Some areas of Paradise recorded upward of 30cm!
The nicest part of this weather event was that temperatures remained below freezing and no rain was received before or after the storm. Snow in our driveway was the height of the bucket on the Snowblower but was dry and easy to clear.
Temporary path to get outside to the garage!
After years of shovelling deep snow off the back deck, today I decided to run the Snowblower up the stairs using my loading ramps. This made easy work of the job and is something few other machines will do as easy (or at all) as the tracked blowers.
My metal ramps provided plenty of traction even at this steep angle.
With driveways cleared my last task of the day was to get my utility trailer out of the snowdrift out back and move it next to the garage in preparation for getting Project Powertek REV out of storage. The bike worked for it in the deep snow but got the job done with ease and not getting stuck!
Cheers, MIKE
