January 27th: With another winter storm on the way this afternoon I had to make a repair to my trusty Honda Snowblower. After twelve years of service since the last belt replacement it was time for a fresh set. Be sure to check out the rest of the story on the 2026 Miscellaneous Projects page.

By suppertime we already had a significant amount of snow on the ground which was forecast to continue overnight with strong winds.

The next morning we awoke to a fresh wind driven 25cm of snow on the ground. I was dying with a flu but headed out anyway to make sure at least the driveway and front walkway/steps were clear.

My blower with brand new belts worked flawlessly in this dense wind packed snow getting the driveway done in great time so I could get back indoors and rest!

Although we experienced a mixed bag of weather so far this year, it's finally staying cold so ponds are freezing over well. With this storm we will have a decent base on which to build an awesome winter of outdoor activities!
