April 6, 2025: Torbay Argo Rip & Boil-Up (27 Photos)

Poised to take advantage of some beautiful mild Spring weather, I headed out to the garage to load up Project 6x6 for another ride and boil-up on the trails in Torbay.  The day started off with a problem as the Argo wouldn't start, the solenoid clicked but nothing else. I investigated and found the main engine electrical ground was cracked off at the connector. Engine vibration must have caused a split and it eventually broke. A new connector was easily crimped in place and the machine fired right up.

All the snow from our very brief winter has long been melted, a light dusting we received a few days ago is also disappearing in short order.

I had a decent ride in the machine exploring trails and eventually came across an old cut over blocked by a couple wind fallen trees.

I put my trusty and economical Chinese CS 2500 mini chainsaw to work reopening a path to the overgrown clearing. This saw continues to run absolutely amazing even six years after having purchased it from EBay.

Since this clearing is within the boundary of my woodcutting permit I loaded the dead blow down aboard the machine to take home for our backyard fire pit and/or burning in my hot tent woodstove.

Completely dry branches from the dead trees were perfect fire starter for today's boil-up.

On the menu today was leftover pork chop and Southern Style Coleslaw  from last night's barbeque. I reheated the pork chop on my barbeque grate laid over hot coals pulled from the campfire.

The pork chop was even better today than it was last night with the added Smokey flavour.

With the fire burned down and safely extinguished I packed up all of my gear and hit the trails back towards the house.

Not every outdoor adventure has to be complicated or pushing the limits. A simple ATV rip and an uncomplicated boil-up is a perfect way to enjoy an afternoon in the woods. Never worry about planning only complicated trips that may never come to fruition, just get out and enjoy the small adventures too.

Cheers, MIKE
