April 5, 2026: Easter Week Storms and Celebrations (21 Photos)

It's Easter week which is usually a clear indication that Spring has arrived, however this year it appears that someone forgot to tell mother nature!

On Wednesday a midday storm brought another 20cm of the white stuff which eventually tapered off overnight.

Thursday morning I headed out to tackle the driveway where once again we had a significant amount of snow drifted all along the right hand side and around the vehicles.

The powerful afternoon sun really helped take the driveway down to bare pavement which is great as it won't freeze into glare ice overnight.

Good Friday was relatively quiet for us, I headed down to WSC Torbay road in the afternoon and played two rounds of their annual Pool For Fish tournament.

On my second go round I was partnered with Dennis Penney, we played well and won our Fish and Chip dinners with all the toppings.

Later that evening a bunch of us headed back to WSC for the doubles Chip Tournament. I partnered with Bernadette and we played very well against strong competition. We were far from being the first team out of the tournament and it was a lot of fun.

On Saturday we were hit with another onslaught of snow.

By the time it was done we had another 18cm of dry drifted snow on the ground! This is the winter that just never ends!

I put our trusty Honda 9/28 to work clearing bucket high drifted snow from the driveway.

Quite a bit blew in around the backdoor, thankfully it was not wet or heavy this time!

On Sunday Sandy and I cooked our Easter Turkey Dinner with all the trimmings.

Again we had potato, turnip, carrot and turnip greens from our own garden paired with cabbage and peas pudding and salt meat of course!

Once again it was a meal fit for a king & queen!

Cheers, MIKE
