January 20, 2024: Torbay ATV Rip (17 Photos)

After what has been way too long since my last ATV rip, today I finally got out for my first snow ride of the season. We've had cold weather, a few storms and recently 5-10cm of snow squalls so trail conditions should be decent.

All of the main trails were in great shape, mostly ice covered and very hard pack snow.

Side trails were still soft but not enough to cause any trouble for a well equipped bike like Project Foreman.

The only place I found any quantity of deep fresh powder was over on the east side of the airport near Majors Path. This section of trail was a lot of fun, the fresh snow was dry but dense and in places quite deep. As it was completely untouched it was really the limit of what Project Foreman could handle and I never got stuck.

I was almost home when I had something hit my helmet similar to being hit with a softball. I looked back and found this fella strutting around, he must have flew right into the side of my helmet.

He was surprisingly tame and stuck around for quite awhile before eventually wandering off into the brush. All in all another great afternoon on the trails.

Cheers, MIKE
