Just after the Christmas break we had our first significant snowstorm of the new year. This storm was forecast to dump approximately 30cm wind driven snow overnight easing up Saturday morning. I always used to complain about January being a late start to winter but in reality it appears to be the new normal here on the East Coast.

This storm was enough to close most businesses, but not West Side on Torbay Road so Sandra and I headed out for another fantastic Chip Tournament. The weather didn't deter many pool players, we had a great turnout and a lot of fun. Sandra and I took second place in this week's event!

Although the driveway drifted in pretty good while we were out, we easily got the Murano in off the street and parked in front of my truck where the snow wasn't as deep.

By Saturday morning snowfall had stopped although winds remained high.

My trusty Honda 9/28 Snowblower was put to work clearing out the driveway with ease. The basement door and back deck were another matter as they had to be shovelled out by hand.

Once the wind died down the boys were eager to explore the snow on their Catio!
