This week Dad and I took an ATV run into his backwoods camp to install a memorial to his late buddy Kevin King. Kevin moved back to Newfoundland after he retired and quickly struck up a friendship with Dad and his crew of buddies. Since then countless hours were spent on ATV, Side by Side and Snowmobile rides, and when they weren't in the woods they were working on a multitude of projects in the shed.

Dad especially enjoyed an extra pair of hands working on projects and loved sharing his knowledge of all things mechanical and construction related. Kevin would share his knowledge especially of gardening raising vegetables in his beautiful garden.

Mr. King passed away suddenly earlier this month, toady Dad and I headed into the backwoods camp to install a custom wooden sign and photo of Kevin as it was one of his most favourite places. Dad was piloting his pride and joy 2016 Can Am Commander side by side, while I was on ol' faithful, Project Foreman.

The ride went well and was uneventful. Paths were in great shape and spring run off was in full swing with recent heavy rain combined with snow melt.

The camp is quaint and located next to an absolutely beautiful brook. It's not set up for overnight stays, but simply a destination to sit back, relax, tell stories and cook up a scoff.

Rest in Peace Kevin.

After our ride we gave the machines a quick wash in preparation for another adventure another day.

For supper Iris had a beautiful feed of prime rib roast, vegetables, gravy and Yorkshire puddings.
