September 29, 2023: Trepassey Partridge Hunting (35 Photos)

Friday afternoon Bassan and I headed down the Southern Shore for a quick Partridge Hunting Trip. His father Peter was already there having taking up residence in their cabin since the season opened!

The weather was beautiful, sunny albeit much warmer than we are used to at the end of September, and quite windy, which of course we're always used to!

After unloading our gear we headed out for a late afternoon hunt with the dogs.

We seen quite a few single birds, and one covey of three. All the birds were very wild taking flight long before we got in range for a shot.

That evening we enjoyed an awesome meal of bowtie pasta with Bassan's homemade moose tomato sauce.

Saturday morning we headed to a different area getting clear of the fog which had most of Trepassey socked in. Temps today were even warmer, this was my first time bird hunting in only a T-shirt!

The dogs sure had no trouble cooling down!

After seeing a bunch of birds we finally got on a few that were in range.

All in all another great trip!
