April 12, 2023: Torbay Spring Argo Ride (9 Photos)

Our fantastic winter of 2023 is slowly drawing to a close as temperatures rise and winter snowpack melts more and more each day. I recently completed some spring maintenance items around the house & shop and wanted to get out in Project 6x6 for what may be the last snow ride of the season.

I was pleasantly surprised at how much snow remained in the woods and on trails all around our area. Looking back at pictures from April 2020 which was post snowmageddon, trail conditions today are quite similar!

Snow on the main trails was for the most part hard packed and sugary, but getting off trail even a bit found the snow very soft. It would be a hard run on tires in places, but I had no trouble on tracks.

Puddles that rarely freeze were wide open, but most were still buried under a few feet of snow.

It wasn't what I'd call hard going, but certainly a lot of fun. Project 6x6 continues to run great, the worst thing you can do with a machine is have it sit around not used.

Through the deep snow pack, signs of spring are poking through all over the place!

All in all a great way to spend a couple hours after a long day of work, and a very busy few weeks at work!

Cheers, MIKE
