June 2021: End of an Era - Home of The Annual Winter Trip is Sold

A day we never expected has come and the Sooley family cabin near Whitbourne has been sold. The cabin was home base for our crew's Annual Winter Trip for over 20 years in addition to so many more adventures fishing and woodcutting.  It will be missed, but when one door closes another opens.

Here's a look back over some of our most memorable trips over the years:

1998 Inaugural February Winter Cabin Trip, the camp sure looked a lot different back then!

Camp Day 1998 with the good ol' Tim Horton's Topsail Road crowd.

1999 Annual Winter Cabin Trip, second year in a row we had no snow!

During this trip we installed a set of gates we fabricated with the help of John McDonald at his farm in Kilbride. We used an old gas powered stick welder to throw down a lot of ugly bubblegum weld attaching them to the posts, but they certainly stood the test of time.

2000 Annual Winter Cabin Trip, we all survived Y2K!

2001 Annual Winter Cabin Trip.

Fall 2001 Bunkhouse Construction, also saw the beginning of a series of major renovations starting with a new roof, covered front deck and new siding. 

Wayne was also quite busy on the inside of the cabin as well utilizing beautiful BC Fir.

Spring 2002 Trouting Adventure, this was our first time making use of the recently renovated bunkhouse!
