3.   Grouse and Ptarmigan season opened in Aklavik, NWT on September 1st.  Kailee and I purchased a new .22 LR rifle earlier this year and spent a couple of evenings dialling it in.  With our hunting permit in hand, we went on the land in search of some birds.

2.   Fortunately, we did not have to travel too far out of town to get into a decent hunting area.  After a short search, we were fortunate in getting three birds.

1.  We brought our game back home, cleaned them up and barbequed them for supper. We're very much looking forward to the next clear day to get out for some more!
