A quality range finder is a great tool to assist in making accurate and successful one shot harvests. When I set up to hunt I pick some landmarks and take range measurements so I have a more accurate estimation of distance to a live target. Now I have respectably accurate information to apply to my shot also taking into account my scope set up and ammunition of choice.

I've also found my range finder to be a very compact substitute for binoculars when I am the one carrying the rifle on one of our hunts. If I'm assisting another shooter I usually take both binoculars and the range finder.
