Vehicle Specs:
With a whole bunches of life changes happening all around me in 2006 I started looking around at vehicle options to replace my overworked ever tiring 2000 Grand Am. I came across a great deal on a Jeep Liberty CRD which was powered by a VM Motari I4 Turbo Diesel Engine & a 5-speed automatic transmission.
This power plant made fantastic smooth power and was ideally suited for towing and made a great and efficient daily driver. The jeep was a sport model and was nicely loaded up with most power options, a sunroof and nice aluminum wheels.
Not only did it tow my ATV & Snowmobile well, it had no trouble with larger loads such as a vehicle towed on a car dolly.
I had my first at fault accident in my Liberty, looking at the radio I accidently rear ended someone causing significant cosmetic damage to the vehicle. Thankfully that is what insurance is for and I was sorted out in quick order.
When French sold his Dakota I acquired his old Westin Bull Bar and a second pair of Hella 500 lights. I fabricated a custom mount and bolted it in place for a nice, low cost, upgraded look.
The Liberty served me very well until its lease was up at which point I acquired a Colorado work truck and Sandra and I picked up a good used 2007 Suzuki Grand Vitara.
