Pizza Fries

Ingredients:

Waffle Fries - or your favorite French Fries

1- Small tin of pizza sauce

1-2 Cups shredded Mozzarella cheese

Sliced Pepperoni

This is not a complicated recipe, probably more of a How To. However it's a simple, fun and delicious side for your favourite protein. The instructions I found called for waffle fries which worked great, but this should work well on any french fries. First start by cooking your fries in an air fryer or oven, I found these waffle fries took about 30-35 minutes to crisp in the oven at 400ºF.

For the topping: In an oven safe dish, spread a layer of pizza sauce about 1/2" thick, then a healthy layer of mozzarella cheese, and finally a layer of pepperoni. From here you can add more of your favourite pizza toppings, today I chose to keep it simple. The topping only takes about 10-15 minutes to cook in the same oven as the fries, I placed it in the oven accordingly so they both finished at the same time.

When everything is cooked spread out a layer of waffle fries on the plate.

Next use a spatula to loosen baked on cheese all around the edge. Tip the dish at an angle and slide the topping over your fries, the pizza sauce lets it slide out with relative ease. Scrape out the excess pizza sauce on top if you like.

Voila, the Instagram post looked prettier but mine was absolutely delicious which is the most important part!

I've seen other recipes where the fries, sauce and toppings are baked all at once in one pan, but I believe the fries would get quite soggy. This method keeps your fries crisp and topping delicious!

Cheers, MIKE
