This weekend I planned to go moose hunting with Dad on Saturday but the weather just didn't cooperate. It rained heavy until 8am, we needed to be in the woods at 5:30-6am so combined with the wind & cold we would have just been miserable for the rest of the day. Dad had prior commitments Sunday but Mark, Stroh, Harry & Arch were heading down early that morning for another crack at their licenses which have yet gone unfilled.

I picked up Matthew around noon and us cripples headed down the shore with all the fixings for a nice hot lunch for the whole crew.

I had marinated overnight thinly sliced moose roast, mushrooms & onion in wine and seasonings, then made French onion flavoured rice and Bassan family recipe Moose Sausages for sides.

Needles to say no one went away hungry, it was fantastic to be back in the woods cooking & hunting with the byes for the first time this season!
