Earlier this year Steve came across an awesome deal on a 2017 Honda Grom. This is a street legal 125cc mini motorcycle designed for around town and on the trail (with upgraded tires) and boasts an OE Spec of 134 miles per gallon fuel economy! With a seat height of 30 inches and a curb weight of only 229lbs these are amazingly fun machines.
Even little Benjamin approves!
The previous owner made some upgrades to the bike including an aftermarket exhaust (unknown brand - probably Amazon), Protaper handlebars, and an all in one taillight that didn't reliably work at all.
With safety in mind Steve ordered a tidy tail kit that deletes the OEM huge rear light mount and allows you to reinstall the OEM brake light, turn signals and license plate, all tucked up neatly under the seat.
He also reinstalled a set of OEM mirrors as the previous owner had removed them.
To round out this quick and easy project, Steve's main upgrade was the installation of a set of Maxxis knobby tires which work great on road but provide excellent traction on the many miles of side road and trails all around Yellowknife.
