A couple short years ago, I did something I don't often do, and that is regret selling an item. This was the case when I parted ways with my previous Kawasaki Invader project sled in 2012. Granted most of the work I completed had been reversed by mother nature due to my neglectful storage, and the sled was sold to an antique sled restorer who would be returning it to her former glory.
One day in the fall of 2014 I was checking the online classified adds and came across a 1978 Kawasaki Invader 440, similar to my last project sled. The deal was made and I travelled to Cupids to pick up the beast.
Overall the sled is in decent shape, 95% of the sled is intact but there is a lot of work needed to get it working, but I'm really looking forward to getting started on this project. Currently I'm compiling a list and stockpile of necessary parts before I begin dismantling and restoration.
Although I had every intention of getting this or another Kawasaki sled back on the trails, this sled was just too far gone to resurrect. After 4 years and failing to find another sled to make 2 out of one I decided to sell the '78 to a guy hoping to patch it up and put it back on the snow. Sled sold 2018.
