October 7, 2006 Sooley Cabin Overnight: (15 Photos)

15.   This weekend Sooley and I took a run to his family cabin to relax, perhaps take a run on the bikes, have a barbeque or twp, and enjoy a weekend away from town. Saturday morning I loaded up Project Foreman and hit the highway west to Whitbourne where I met Sooley at the cabin.

13.   This summer Sooley's father has been very busy renovating the outside of the cabin. He's been replacing decks, installing new railings and adding patio pavers which will eventually connect all the way around the cabin to the rear deck.

10.   I was excited as I finally got to test out my brand new tires on project Foreman. Earlier this summer I took off the worn out ITP Blackwater XT's which served me well for seven years and installed a set of 27" ITP Mud Lite XTR radial tires.

9.   These tires have a great tread pattern which is aggressive enough for mud but still has an excellent ride on hard pack. Radial tire technology resist punctures while staying light weight and while handling of this utility class bike is greatly improved.

8.  The Sooley family Honda 300 4x4 continues to run well, not skipping a beat!

6.   Using Mr. Sooley's new Kioti tractor we tore down the old Potato Cellar which was starting to collapse. The is the infamous cellar Maffer rode his Skidoo off of two winters ago.

4.   We scooped up gravel and filled in the hole making the whole area much safer. This area will be a great space for piling & seasoning firewood before stacking it inside the woodshed.

1.   It was an excellent quiet weekend, we got a lot done and had a few laughs which is the goal for any trip to the cabin.

Cheers, MIKE
