October 2, 2021: Torbay Trail Repair ATV Rip (19 Photos)

This week we had a pretty significant wind event come through that pummelled eastern facing shorelines for a few days. Thankfully it was not as severe as Hurricane Larry in September and damage around town minor in comparison.

Over the weekend I took Project Foreman and hit the trails to check for windblown trees blocking the paths and side trails that many of us enjoy.

My mighty but tiny and quite inexpensive CS 2500 chainsaw went to work clearing a number of downed trees, many were thicker than the 12" bar was long.

This saw has been the handiest thing added to my bike since upgrading from stock tires! It makes an impassable trail as good as new in minutes with a minimum amount of labour required. A 1L bottle of premixed fuel and 500ml bottle of bar oil can get a lot of work done!

The onshore effects of this week's storm lingered for quite awhile drawing many people to the beaches up and down the eastern shoreline. All in all it was an excellent day in the woods, and something a little different from my usual trail rides!

Cheers, MIKE
