Mike's Product Review:

Outdoor Edge SwingBlade

February 20, 2020

My Outdoor Edge SwingBlade predates my RazorPro by quite a few years. Received as a Christmas Gift, I was initially unsure of the quality of this new to me product. However all questions and fears were quelled on my next hunt in 2013 when I finally got a chance to try it out.

The main blade is a 3.6" skinning profile but also works well for general game processing duties. It's made from Japanese AUS-8 stainless steel and is precisely heat treated and hand finished  extremely sharp for superior edge retention and performance.

Like the RazorPro, the SwingBlade has a fantastic gut ripper which opens up game without fear of accidently piercing internal organs and spoiling meat. The two blades are formed from one piece and swing from one to the other at the push of a lock button.

Both the SwingBlade and RazorPro are fantastic knives. Both hold their edge for an extremely long time with the SwingBlade being easily re-sharpened with a quality sharpening system Such as my Gatco EdgePro. I highly recommend both knives and have found Outdoor Edge (not a sponsor) to fully stand behind their product.

Cheers, Mike
